Powerful photographs that speak to today’s world: Close Enough showcases the work of 13 female Magnum photographers. These are the very women who are shaping the future of the photographers’ collective, as this exhibition of 14 series of photos containing more than 150 works makes clear. Each series captures a pivotal moment in the photographer’s career. Some of these photos are being unveiled for the first time, others are archival projects placed in a new context or highlight a unique creative process. Every project is born from deep collaboration with the subject of the work, extensive research, or a personal fascination.

The title Close Enough was borrowed from the famous quote by Robert Capa, one of the founders of the Magnum photography collective. Each of the photographers shows in their own unique way that getting close enough to your subject is indeed essential for a really good photo.

Participating photographers: Olivia Arthur, Myriam Boulos, Sabiha Çimen, Bieke Depoorter, Cristina de Middel, Carolyn Drake, Cristina García Rodeiros, Nanna Heitmann, Susan Meiselas, Hannah Price, Lua Ribeira, Alessandra Sanguinetti, and Newsha Tavakolian.
