Helmond Castle, the largest square moated castle in the country, has been transformed into Helmond Winter Castle from December 21 to January 5. The city castle is attractively decorated with cozy lights, winter music plays and it is also full of beautiful stories. We would love to see you with us! Please note that the castle is extra open on December 24 and 31.

Lucas Gassel was a sixteenth-century painter who grew up in Helmond. In his workshop in the castle you will learn what materials he used and what techniques this master used to paint. You will also discover which paintings Lucas Gassel made and how this Helmond painter lived.
