Art Café Olivia Arthur

On Saturday, February 1, we once again have an Art Café on offer for you. Then Magnum photographer Olivia Arthur speaks about her work, which can be seen in the Close Enough exhibition. During her lecture she talks about her work, who or what inspires her, her career and herself. The lecture takes place in the English language, at the end you can ask her your questions. You will soon be able to purchase an online ticket for the Art Café on this page via the Ticket button. You can purchase your entrance ticket for the museum via the ‘Museum entrance ticket’ button.

Olivia Arthur (1980, UK) is showing a selection of photos from her archive, taken between 2016 and 2022. This collection reflects her fascination with the body that emerged during her pregnancy with her daughters. As her body worked ‘like a machine’ on this extraordinary task, she began to view it in a new light. In Close Enough, the evolution of her fascination is visible: from the absence of physical contact during the pandemic, through transforming bodies, to how technology makes it possible for the body to act as an extension, and multiple steps in between.
