Helmond Castle is the largest moated castle in the Netherlands. The castle has stood in the heart of Helmond for over seven centuries and is filled with stories. Come and listen, play, and discover these wonderful tales.

English Guided Tour
Discover the history and stories of Helmond Castle during our daily guided tour in English. The tour runs from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm and is available for a €2 supplement per person. Children aged 0 to 2 years may join free of charge. Please inform the front desk on the day of your visit if you would like to join. No reservation is required.
Meet the castle guides
The guides are present every day to share exciting stories about this centuries-old castle. They will show you the most beautiful places and invite you to discover which historical objects are hidden inside the old chest. Do you know what a chainmail shirt, a knucklebone game, or a seal stamp is?
The castle guides are present daily from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Listen to the castle residents
Along the way, you will meet the peddler who has all kinds of tricks up his sleeve, or Steward Jadoulle, who manages the castle in his own peculiar way when the lord of the castle is away. And the maid could certainly use some help polishing the silverware. All the residents you meet during your journey through the castle have a special connection to Helmond Castle. Go and discover it for yourself. The residents are present between 10:30 am and 4:00 pm.

Take a selfie with your friends
Dress up as a lady or a knight and take a seat on the grand throne in the Knight’s Hall. Take a unique selfie. You can also enjoy medieval-style games in the courtyard every day and explore the exciting castle cellars.
Watch out, the castle is on fire!
Discover the mystery in the centuries-old attic during an exciting tour. Afterwards, you might know who caused the fire in the attic. No reservation is required; you can join the attic tour on the day of your visit. The cost is €2.00 per person. The attic tour is suitable for children aged 8 and up.

Make a stained-glass-style window hanger or decorate your coat of arms
Come and craft, design, and take your creations home with you. Decorate your own cardboard coat of arms and/or a stained-glass-style window hanger. You can make as many as you like and there is no charge.
This activity is available every day during opening hours.
Exhibition: Light over the Factory
We present a new exhibition: Light over the Factory – A Selection from the People and Work Collection. View the world of work and industry through the eyes of artists. Paintings, drawings, prints, and sculptures from the People and Work collection show how working life was depicted, from brickmakers and weavers to factory workers. These impressive artworks show both the strength and the beauty of the industrial landscape.

Ready for a break? Visit the cozy Castle Café for tasty dishes and delicious drinks. During the Spring holiday break, you can also make your own scented sachet.
